Consider two young people preparing themselves for marriage
The young man has built a house, bought the latest Television gadgets,he thinks of fencing the compound in order to protect those in the compound against unnecessary distractions and thieves.
Heis also trying to maintain a steady flow of resources so as to meet up unforeseen circumstances
While he is busy in this way, what is his future wife doing? She is also thinking about how to make sure that her home is the best
He thinks of big things—hard work, solid buildings. She thinks of small things to make the house look nice and welcoming for her husband to feel good
She wants the house to be a real home, that is, a place that is good to live in and to come back to
The way man and woman feel about life and people and the way they express their feelings is also different
As they work differently, so man and woman feel differently
The Sena people of Malawi/Zambia have a proverb that says “We all have the same clothing but we differ in our thinking.”
This means that men and women all share in the same human nature but very often have a different outlook on life
Let us look more closely at those differences. Of course, what we say here can be said only of man and woman in general, but it can be of great help in understanding one another as man and woman
When we say that women differs from men, we are not saying that one is superior to the other, but that each one has something of his or her own that can help the other to become more himself or herself.
